Situation: We wanted an easy way for us to maintain profile information coming from Active Directory without giving access directly to AD. We also wanted a way to update profile pictures easier than what comes out of the box.
Result: We installed the Active Directory Self Service feature and was surprised on the ease of use. We actually had an issue that was quickly resolved from the HarePoint team. It is now part of our daily process in IT and HR.
Bottom line: We were successful in creating a new process with HR and IT to help manage employee information and Profile information within SharePoint. Eliminated redundant work and improved the speed at which it was done.
