The workflow actions from this group assist you in working with date and time values in your SharePoint workflows: data/time conversion, properties and settings. Note that the date/time activities group is included in the 'Free group' of activities in HarePoint Workflow Extensions; you are welcome to use these activities free of charge.
Date/Time activities
- Converts Date from Local Time to UTC
This workflow action converts a local date/time variable to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) date/time. The UTC is equal to the local time minus the UTC offset. The conversion also takes into account the daylight saving time rule.
- Converts Date from UTC to Local Time
This workflow action is used to convert Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) to local time. The local time is equal to the UTC time plus the UTC offset. The conversion also takes into account the daylight saving time rule.
- Converts Date to Text
This workflow action is used to convert a date/time variable to a string using a specified format.
- Evaluate Due Date
This workflow action is used to calculate a due date by adding a specified time period to a starting date and excluding non-working hours.
- Get Date Property
This workflow action is used to get a specified numeric value (like day of week or year) from a date/time variable.
- Get Interval Between Dates
This workflow action calculates the interval between two specified dates in specified units and saves the result to a variable.
- Get Working Time Between Dates
This workflow action is used to calculate the working days or working hours between the two dates. The working days and hours are taken from Regional Settings of a SharePoint site.
- Set DateTime Constant
This workflow action is used to initialize date/time variables.
